It is far too early to write another blog and I lack the energy to do so right now, so I'll just post some pictures :)
So this was the Sunday of our "Mass-Orientation" camp. That bucket is full of food scraps and who knows what else. They used it in one of our camp games, we had to find 20 marbles that were at the bottom of the bucket, but that was only on the second night. In this picture, the bucket had been sitting out in the sun for a few days, and Stephan and Alex so kindly volunteered to clean it up.
Tuesday morning, around 9:30, at the Val D'Or airport(one of our two stops on our way up north). It's very very small, about the size of the Swiss Chalet I worked at, and it had ONE taxi spot, which was, of course, vacant. This isn't everyone but clockwise from the left, it's me, Charles, Rachelle (in the rainbow hat), Marc, Anna, Karl, Garret and Stephan. This is also the airport that took our luggage hostage for a day.
First picture of Chisasibi. This is the Administrative Centre, duh, one of the nicer looking buildings. I don't know what they do in there but it's really nice and the receptionist is such a doll, she helped us out a lot during an activity on our frist day.
DOWNTOWN! Not a joke, this is downtown Chisasibi. There's not much to say about it, but on the right is the hockey arena and on the right is the school. Also in downtown : the commercial centre (consists of a post office, cafe thats not really a cafe, a CO-OP, a CIBC bank and the Northern Store), City Hall, the general store, a First Nations Bank and a Youth Centre.
Aw, this is some of the group walking to work on their first day at their jobs. Of course I was in the van getting a ride, so what was I to do aside from snap their picture and mock them :)
